Patient PATIENT
It is hard to be a patient patient when you have to wake up early, miss breakfast, take the overbearing 2 hours trip to visit the doctor's clinic for check-up only to be seen past 12noon!
It is hard to be a patient patient when you are itching to be discharged, but your doctor made rounds late!
It is hard to be a patient patient when a staff fails to give the urinal you requested or made a blunder in your bill and additional charges were imposed!
It is hard to be a patient patient when you are not feeling well and told to wait in a corner of the Emergency Room because the staff had to attend to other patients needing emergency care!
It is indeed hard to be a patient patient.
But there is a need for us to be patient patients because we are all patients.
We are all struggling to overcome something...the inability to forgive, to let go of the past, to cease to be jealous, to let go of unfounded insecurities, to criticize, to be haughty and proud...
We are all struggling to overcome a defect, may this be emotional, mental or physical.
We are all, consciously or unconsciously, clamoring to be healed.
It is hard to be a patient patient but because we are all patients, we need to deliberately decide to understand each other.
Wouldn't it be nice if we are not judged for our occasional lapses in fulfilling our tasks?
Wouldn't we appreciate someone who knows our frailties and sins, yet accepts us without accepting our mistakes?
We all need to give someone a break from our instinct to judge.
We need to be patient patients because we do not have to be a hospital patient to be a patient patient.
