The Archer and the Arrow
Just awhile ago, I received an email from a good friend of mine after reading my entry " Sit and Be Rested".
Dr Marie Magno wrote,
" I can write you something for your bench : for someone who was sometimes a bit off but more often dead center........always looking for her purpose while already fulfilling it."
An archer always aims for the bull's-eye for that is how the archer's skill is assessed.
But the arrow has no expectations and thus flies freely.
Missing his mark, the archer grunts...
But the arrow smiles because it has landed and has achieved the purpose for which it was made.
I have been trying to be an archer on most occasion of my life
Afraid more of not knowing what my target is than missing the target.
And Marie reminds me that this could be pride...
The archer's role is likely simply to aim and where the arrow lands is up to God...
I want more to be the arrow, subservient to the greatest archer who never misses.
Thanks Marie for the reminder.
